Shopware, the e-commerce platform for web shops, is gaining ground on the Dutch market. And to be honest, we're not surprised. We know Shopware as a very user-friendly and flexible e-commerce platform: easy to use, easy to maintain and very scalable. Shopware 6 in particular, the latest version, has a number of impressive features and is becoming an increasingly bigger name in the Dutch e-commerce landscape. It's high time to dive a little deeper into Shopware and see what the platform has to offer you. We also explain how you can easily connect the software to Belco.
Shopware: from 2000 to the present
Although many people have not known about Shopware's existence for very long, the German-made software has been around for more than 20 years. A note worth mentioning: Shopware was founded by Stefan Hamann, who at the respectable age of 16 years old founded Hamann-Media GmbH, which formed the basis for Shopware. For years, Shopware was a widely used software solution for web shops, especially in Germany, but in recent years the demand for the software has also increased sharply internationally. Partly because the software continues to develop and becomes more mature. Shopware 6, the latest version, has received many positive reviews.
The new possibilities of Shopware 6
The possibilities of the latest version of Shopware are very extensive and we can talk about them for hours. That's why we're highlighting one feature for now, the 'no code Flow Builder', because it clearly illustrates where Shopware distinguishes itself: reducing complex processes to simple and user-friendly solutions. With the Flow Builder you can (re)design business processes (for example logistics or internal) easily and without the use of code.
An example: suppose you want to send an email to all your customers who have placed an order in your webshop to thank them for their order. This is still possible with most webshop software. But we go one step further: you also want to send a discount code to all your customers who have ordered, live in the Netherlands and have ordered more than twice in the past year. This is often where the challenge starts in other e-commerce software, but not in Shopware. With the Flow Builder you can easily add a certain condition, for example 'living in the Netherlands' to your process flow. This makes Shopware's software very flexible and that is exactly what sets Shopware apart from other platforms.
Shopware as the center of your e-commerce landscape
Another reason why Shopware is becoming increasingly interesting for web shops is because, much more than other e-commerce software, it serves as a central place for your entire e-commerce environment - and everything that comes with it. For example, the software is API-based. This means that you can easily connect Shopware (using an API) to software from one of the many partners. You create your own e-commerce landscape in which the different software work together in a smart way. This makes the software flexible and ensures that it can grow naturally with your company.
Belco and Shopware
Delivering a complete software solution, making processes user-friendly and streamlined and connecting as much software as possible in a smart way where possible: we at Belco think the same about this as they do at Shopware. As a partner of Shopware, we have developed a plug-in that allows you to easily connect your Shopware webshop to our customer service software. All customer data from the webshop is then automatically loaded and you immediately get insight into what the customer has ordered and when - very useful.
We are very curious about the future of Shopware and we will continue to monitor developments closely.
